Frequently Asked Questions
What material are your products manufactured from?
All but the bronze series products are built from solid 1/8-inch steel. Return-air filter grilles and access panels are made from thinner material for safety reasons due to their opening ability when mounted on ceilings. The bronze series is constructed from 18-gauge galvanized steel, but is folded, or formed to give it a thicker 1/8-inch appearance.
How do I know what size to order?
Because we don't offer returns on most products, it is very important to carefully measure and order the right product. Please learn more

What type of finish are on your products?
All products, other than the brushed stainless steel option, have a baked-on powder coat finish. This finish is also applied to the matching mounting screws, if applible. Learn more about powder coat finish precautions

What's the difference between vents for floor versus wall and ceiling locations?
Floor vents typically don't have face screw holes for attachment screws to hold them in place. Although, some prefer to use hardware to attach floor vents to the floor so they don't slide around in the duct opening. Ceiling and wall vents must have face screw holes and use screws to attach them to the wall or ceiling and structural members behind the wall.
How critical is airflow on vents and will your products work efficiently in my home?
All products that we sell are engineered for efficient airflow. Cheaply-made products from overseas can often negatively impact our heating and cooling system causing damage to your system. Learn more
here.
How do I know what to order when it comes to supply, fixed return, or return air filter grille?
When your system is on, if air flows out of the vent, you should order a supply vent. Supply vents utilize an air-volume damper so you can adjust the airflow up or down, according to your needs. Regarding return grilles, if your current return grille has a filter inside of it, you need to make sure to order a hinged return air filter grille. If you current return does not have a filter behind the face, you can order just a standard, or fixed, return grille.
Are all vent designs safe for floor installations?
Absolutely not. You should not take this decision lightly and to help with your design selection, please learn more
here.
I need my vent covers quickly. What do you offer that I can receive right away?

My ductwork is shallow and I'm worried about the depth of my new vent fitting inside.
All our products have consistent but varying depths, depending on what product it is. Supply vents have a depth of approximately 2 1/4-inch. Return grilles have a depth of approximately 3/4-inch. Return air filter grilles have a depth of approximately 1 1/2-inch. Access panels have a depth of approximately 2 inches. Please make sure prior to ordering that you have sufficient depth. Are your vent covers tough enough to walk on?
Yes, most product's construction includes 1/8-inch thick material, which is quite strong up to a certain size. For larger sizes, over 10-inches, you should consider ordering thicker material, which is offered on our Gold Series products. Our Bronze Series products are made with thinner material and should not be used on the floor over a 4-inch size. Please read all precautions about floor vents
here.
